Here is another learning activity adapted from our “Home Preschool Curriculum” developed by Fran Wisniewski and Diane Flynn Keith for UniversalPreschool.com.
Remember, only do these learning activities if they are enjoyable for you and your child. Do not treat this as a “must do” lesson. It’s simply a fun activity that provides an opportunity to learn, while building “readiness skills” for the school or homeschool environment.
~ Understanding Beside & Next To ~
- Talk about positions with your child.
- When you are doing things with your child use direction words as much as possible. For example, “Look at that big black dog next to our car!”
- Play Connect Four with your child.
- When you give your child directions to get something say, ” Please get me the green cup next to the book,” or ” Come sit beside me”.
