Using a Pencil or Crayon

Using a pencil or crayon takes practice. Make the materials easily available to your child so he/she can practice by drawing, coloring, and writing at will. Have a variety of pens, pencils, crayons, markers, and paper with which to experiment.

Coloring books and activity books such as dot-to-dots and mazes improve pencil and crayon control.
